Digital Mammography
High-resolution images with extremely low radiation dose
Mammography is a diagnostic method that uses low-dose X-rays to examine the breast. The goal of mammography is the early diagnosis of breast cancer by detecting small tumors and micro-abnormalities. It is the only radiological method that, in combination with self-examination and clinical examination by qualified doctors, significantly contributes to the early diagnosis of breast cancer. The radiation dose to which a patient is exposed during the mammography screening is equivalent to the cosmic radiation dose received by a traveler on a three-hour plane trip.
The Digital Mammography department at Healthspot is equipped with the state-of-the-art Siemens Mammomat Fusion digital mammograph that offers high standards of image quality and extremely low radiation dose. The Mammomat Fusion digital mammograph is a highly reliable mammography system that ensures efficiency and accuracy. It features a powerful detector with innovative MaxFill technology, providing better image quality at the right dose and thus increasing diagnostic accuracy.
With Opdose technology, the radiation dose is automatically calculated according to the composition and size of the breasts, and automatic enlargement of breast areas is achieved without additional radiation, excluding the pectoral muscle from the calculation. At the same time, it provides a faster examination process as no change of position of the system is required between shots.
The following examinations are performed in the Digital Mammography department:
- Digital mammography
- Digital mammography using the technique of mammary insertion repulsion
- Magnifying mammographic images
- Local mammography images
- Magnetic mammography (mammography with a localisation hook)
- Placement of marking clips before preoperative chemotherapy
- Breast biopsies
HealthSpot's high-tech equipment and experienced personnel are here to make the process of such a delicate examination as safe and comfortable for you!
